It wasn’t until Matthew Beauchamp took accounting and business classes in college that he found his passion. 

“In high school, I knew I wanted to pursue a career that involved working with numbers and math but was unsure what that would be. I ended up taking an accounting class and a few business classes and instantly loved it,” he says. 

Matthew has been with Wellabe for a year and a half and is an Accountant 1 on the management reporting team. His first day on the job was the day after he graduated college. 

He’s proud of getting through his first year-end ahead of schedule and credits his team for working well together. Even being short one person, they were able to file 300 tax returns ahead of schedule while also prioritizing their other duties.

“The finance team is amazing and by the far the best part of my job,” he says. “My coworkers are supportive and always willing to help each other out. In the short time I have been at Wellabe, they’ve helped me to grow tremendously.” 

Matthew hopes to keep growing and learning more about his options in accounting. 

“This is the start of my career, and there so many different areas in the accounting and finance world,” Matthew says. “So, when looking at my role and career and what it holds in the next five years, I am hoping to learn as much as possible and find out what aspects I enjoy the most and what I want to pursue in the future.”
