Be well informed before the annual enrollment period

The Medicare annual enrollment period will be here before you know it. But what does that mean? Let’s walk through what to expect, so you’re well prepared.

The annual enrollment period is Oct. 15–Dec. 7 every year, and it’s when you can make changes to existing Medicare coverage. You can also weigh supplemental health insurance options to make sure all gaps are filled — because Medicare doesn’t cover everything.

If you select original Medicare (Parts A and B), your next step is to decide whether you need supplemental health insurance. These answers to the top Medicare Supplement questions can clarify if Medigap fits your situation. Or, compare the 10 standardized plans to determine which letter plan is right for you.

Wellabe offers Medicare Supplement insurance Plans A, F, High-deductible F, G, High-deductible G, and N to help you fill the gaps between what’s paid by original Medicare and the overall cost of health care treatments. Our Medicare Supplement webpage shows what’s available in your state or watch a video to learn more.

Death benefit

This is the payment a life insurance provider makes to a beneficiary when the insured policyholder passes away.

September is Life Insurance Awareness Month, which is a good time to learn the differences among types of life insurance. For example, did you know prepaying for your funeral is a type of life insurance? The death benefit is the funeral itself, and the beneficiary is the funeral home. Learn more at wellabe.com.
