Wellabe's Volunteer Grant Program makes it easy for employees to provide extra support to their favorite causes. Whether they’re volunteering individually, serving on a nonprofit board, or teaming up for a charity walk/run, employees can amplify their time contributions with Wellabe grants, just like Assistant General Counsel Michelle Ingle did.
For Michelle, applying for a grant wasn’t just about seeking financial support — it was about magnifying the reach of an organization she believes in.
“When you see firsthand the difference these funds make, it’s rewarding. It’s a reminder that Wellabe is there, not just in words, but in action, supporting the causes that matter most to us,” she says.
Michelle first encountered Waukee Area Christian Services (WACS) through her daughters, who volunteered there during high school. The organization is a lifeline for many in the Waukee area, offering everything from supplemental food and clothing to medical services. When an opportunity to join the board arose, Michelle knew she could contribute even more.
“Caring for my community has always been at the core of who I am. So, when the chance to deepen my involvement through board service with WACS came up, I knew I had to seize it,” she says. “Tapping into Wellabe’s Charitable Giving Volunteer Grant Program was the natural next step. The application process was seamless, and the impact tremendous. These grants have provided funding to sustain and expand our services — especially critical now with rising costs and growing community needs.”
And while Michelle continues to pour her heart into WACS, she offers a gentle nudge to others: “WACS is always looking for volunteers. If you’re considering where to invest your time, we’d love to have you join us.”
Presented by Wellabe’s Charitable Giving employee resource group, the Volunteer Grant Program is provided to employees in addition to 16 hours of volunteer paid time-off (VTO) each year.
